Health and Environment: Course Description
The OpenCourseWare 'Health and Environment' introduces students to the relationships that people have with the environment, physically and chemically. It examines the causes and effects of this relationship so students can understand the delicate balance humans need to take in order to protect the environment. Students can study the interactions that people have with other living organisms, such as animals and plants, known as ecology. The free course also provides information about pollution, population growth, habitats and changes in relative abundance of species. Students can also learn more about how people have changed ecosystems and caused the extinction of certain species. This OpenCourseWare is an introductory level undergraduate course that provides a detailed outline about environmental and health science topics. The course units can be completed in 12 hours.
