Compressible Fluid Dynamics OpenCourseWare: A Free MIT Graduate Level Course on Compressible Fluid Dynamics
Students taking part in the 'Compressible Fluid Dynamics' OpenCouseWare project will learn about appropriate conservation laws, normal shock wave relations, piston and shock tube problems and Riemann invariants. A background in mechanical engineering and prior knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics is required for the successful understanding of the course.

Compressible Fluid Mechanics: Course Description
'Compressible Fluid Mechanics' is a graduate-level free OpenCourseWare project taught by Professor Anette Hosoi It's designed for students who have an interest in learning more about the compressible flow of gases. Specific topics to be covered in the course, include isentropic flows, heat transfer to high-speed flows, unsteady compressible flows and steady 2D supersonic flow. Assignments are comprised of design, modeling and theory exercises.
Readings, lecture notes and assignments are available for free online. If you are interested in taking this OpenCourseWare, visit the mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics course page.
