Associate of Applied Science in Recording Arts and Technology
The A.A.S. program in Recording Arts and Technology prepares students for entry-level positions in the audio recording services industry. The curriculum focuses on such topics as commercial production, location sound, recording and mixing, video and television recording, Internet audio and record production. Internships are frequently part of the Recording Arts program.
Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts
This B.S. Recording Arts degree program trains students for careers in music recording or audio post-production for live sound, television and film, CD and DVD. Coursework includes such classes as audio techniques, audio repair and maintenance, seminar in recording arts, aural learning, audio for picture production, music theory, film music and electronics. Some programs give students hundreds of hours of hands-on experience. Many programs require an internship.
Master's in Recording Arts and Technology
A master's program in Recording Arts gives students advanced technical knowledge in the industry. Students choose an area of concentration, but learn theoretical concepts of all Recording Arts disciplines, including music, computer science, digital animation and video production. Graduates of a master's program are prepared to teach Recording Arts at a postsecondary level.
