Materials at Equilibrium: Course Description

OpenCourseWare 'Materials at Equilibrium' covers thermodynamics laws (phase diagrams, solutions, electrochemical and electromagnetic systems and mechanical applications), statistical thermodynamics, phase transitions, crystal lattices, gases and ensembles, computational modeling and interfaces. Specific topics include Rumford experiment, polymer mixtures, thermocalc, heat capacity, entropy and Euler relations. Professor Gerbrand Ceder and Dr. Anton Van der Ven taught the original course. The course consisted of lectures and recitations. It is a graduate level course offered in the field of materials science and engineering.

Materials provided with 'Materials at Equilibrium' OpenCourseWare include recitations, problem sets and solutions, exams and solutions, discussion excerpts and other study material all in .pdf format, an intro video and a reading list.
