Electromagnetic Wave Theory: Course Description

'Electromagnetic Wave Theory' is a graduate-level OpenCourseWare from MIT taught by Professor Jin Au Kong. The course emphasizes problem solving, mathematical approaches and physical interpretations. You'll learn about the equivalence principle, waves in media, duality and complementarity. The course includes thorough studies of several electromagnetic theories, including Maxwell-Minkowski theory, Huygens' principle, Lorentz transformations, Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffractions and dyadic Green's functions. The course uses video examples and MATLAB simulations to help students visualize such topics as Maxwell's theory and the diffraction and scattering of electromagnetic waves.

This OpenCourseWare includes problem sets, quizzes and demonstrations of some of the electrodynamic wave theory principles that the course covers. If you are interested in taking this free course, visit the electromagnetic wave theory course page.
