Electrochemical Processing of Materials: Course Description
'Electrochemical Processing of Materials' is an OpenCourseWare offered by MIT that shows students the various components of electrochemical processes. The free online course provides an examination of the kinetics of electrode processes, superconducting magnets and thermodynamic properties of electrolytes. Students could learn about electrochemical characterization techniques, such as controlled potential and controlled current (DC) and voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy (AC). The on-campus course was taught by MIT professor Donald Sadoway in 2001 as a lecture class with two sessions per week. Some of the lecture topics discussed include electroplating, electrorefining, electrosynthesis, electrochemical power sources and electrowinning. Students taking this free course should have RealOne Player computer software in order to watch a video introduction from the professor.
This OpenCourseWare includes problem set assignments, a video presentation and sample exams. If you are interested in taking this free course, visit the electrochemical processing course page.
