Analysis II: Course Description

This course builds upon the mathematical analysis foundations covered in 'Analysis I', a prerequisite course exploring the basics of series and sequences. 'Analysis II' is taught by Professor Victor Guillemin, a renowned pioneer in the field of mathematical analysis and winner of the Leroy P. Steele Prize for Lifetime Achievement from the American Mathematical Society. In this course, Guillemin advances students' understanding of multivariable calculus, touched on in 'Analysis I', and expounds on global analysis and manifolds. Manifolds are mathematical spaces that are similar to Euclidean space, or geometric space. Global analysis examines the relationship between differential equations and manifolds. This class is valuable to undergraduate students pursuing bachelor's degrees in Mathematics or related fields.

Course materials available to those taking the free online version of this course include thorough lecture notes, as well as some homework assignments with solutions. If you're interested in taking this course, visit the mathematical analysis course page.
