The University of New Hampshire is a 4-year, public school offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs to nearly 15,000 students each year. Its main campus is located in the small city of Durham, New Hampshire, but the school also has a satellite campus in Manchester.

The University of New Hampshire was founded as New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in 1866, and is a now large, diverse institution with land-, sea- and space-grant charters. Currently, more than 58% of the students enrolled at the University of New Hampshire are from the state of New Hampshire.

This school offers more than 100 degree programs, in addition to research opportunities, study abroad programs, student internships and an honors program. The current most popular undergraduate programs at the University of New Hampshire are liberal arts, kinesiology, communication, psychology, English, political science, nursing and biology.

Admissions and Enrollment at the University of New Hampshire

Students wishing to enter the University of New Hampshire as freshmen must first obtain high school transcripts and complete a Common Application and UNH Supplement Form. Transfer students, international students, home-schooled students and non-traditional students are also welcome to apply. The school takes previous academic records and test scores into account before approving enrollment.

Campus Facilities and Learning Environment at the University of New Hampshire

In addition to academic colleges buildings, the University of New Hampshire provides a counseling center, computer labs, a health services building and a registrar's office. The university library has entire branches devoted to biological science, chemistry, engineering, computer sciences, math and physics.
