University of Cincinnati School Overview

The University of Cincinnati has a main campus located in the center of Cincinnati, and serves nearly 30,000 students there. The school also has satellite branches located in the large Ohio suburbs of Batavia and Blue Ash, with each campus offering programs to approximately 4,000 students.

The university was founded in 1819, and is primarily recognized as a research institution. Several groundbreaking discoveries occurred at the college, including the first antihistamine and the first oral polio vaccine. The school's scientific and research programs are some of its most popular and highly ranked. It also has a strong music and arts program, and was the original site of the first electronic organ.

Admissions and Enrollment Overview

The University of Cincinnati accepts freshman high school graduates, transfer students, graduate students, non-degree-seeking students, distance-learning students and international students. In addition to its regular buildings, the school has added several new facilities since 2000, including a large scale test facility, a combustion research lab, a leather industries research lab, an educational services building, an erosion test facility, an MRI center and a tennis center.
