Touro College Review
Touro College is an independent academic system that offers associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, as well as first-professional degrees and 1- to 2-year certificates. The main campus is located in New York City; there are ten other campuses worldwide. Concentrations offered range from accounting to special education and medical engineering to criminal justice.
Touro College Overview
In 1971, Jewish-sponsored Touro College began with a single class of 35 students enrolled in a program of liberal arts and sciences; today over 23,000 students are enrolled in colleges and campuses in four states and five foreign countries.
This university offers many unique schools and programs, such as the School for Lifelong Education, which offers contract-based, non-traditional programs for adults and the Institute for Professional Studies that offers practical application programs to the ultra-orthodox community. Many of these schools and colleges have received honors and recognition---for example, the Winter 2009 issue of preLaw journal, listed the Touro (Jacob D. Fuchsberg) Law Center as one of the ten most innovative law schools.

There isn't one way to apply to Touro College. Each primary school or college has its own admissions office, admission requirements, application process and application form. The individual college or school can also offer financial aid information; about 88% of Touro College students receive some form of financial aid.

The primary libraries for Touro College are found in New York City, on Long Island, Miami and Los Angeles. Holdings total more than half a million items, including databases with almost 34,000 e-journals and 49,000 e-books. Many of the colleges have smaller, topic-specific libraries.
