Oklahoma State University Review

The main campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater offers a wide variety of certificate and degree programs in arts, sciences, agriculture, engineering, education, environmental sciences, veterinary health and business. A satellite campus in Tulsa offers a subset of the same programs and courses plus programs in health science and technology through the OSU Center for Health Research. Two affiliated technical institutes in Oklahoma City and Okmulgee offer 2-year A.S. and A.A.S. programs.

Oklahoma State University Overview

The scenic 840 acre Stillwater campus is home to 23,000 students enrolled in nearly 200 certificate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs. Students study everything from liberal arts to agriculture, engineering and business. The Tulsa campus offers courses for students who prefer to study in an urban setting, in addition to programs in health science from the OSU Center for Health Research. Another 9,000 students are enrolled in certificate and associate's degree programs in a variety of technical trades offered at the OSU Institute of Technology at Okmulgee and the OSU Oklahoma City campuses.

Admissions and Enrollment Overview

High school graduates with an ACT score of 24 are encouraged to apply, as are those with a GPA of 3.0 who appeared in the top third of their class, or scored 21 on the ACT.

First-year students are encouraged to attend a 3-day Camp Cowboy orientation, designed to help students acclimate to college life, meet fellow incoming students and introduce them to some faculty members.

Campus Facilities and Learning Environment

The Stillwater campus houses nearly 5,000 students in its 25 residence halls and seven family-first apartment complexes, and provides 30 different dining experiences. Students have the option to reserve space in Parker Hall for their guests at a fraction of nearby hotel rates, and guests are invited to purchase a meal plan to complete the campus living experience.

The Edmon Low Library houses more than 5.5 million books, documents and microfilms, as well as 17,000 periodicals. The library catalog and several bibliographic databases are offered online. The OSU Student Union is massive, and is home to an 81 room hotel, food court, shopping center, post office, bookstore, theater and travel agency.

The Freshman Research Program encourages students to get involved in unique research projects by pairing them up with faculty collaborators. The Study Abroad office coordinates academic exchanges with schools in more than 30 countries. The Service Learning Volunteer Center helps students contribute in community service programs, and members of the OSU community spend 100,000 hours with over 80 community partners every year.
