Middle Tennessee State University was founded as an education college in 1911. It is currently made up of seven colleges and offers 60 degree programs to 23,872 students each year. The Department of Recording Industry is the school's most popular program. The program is divided into concentrations in music business, commercial songwriting, production and technology.
