Kutztown University (KU) has served the Berks County, Pennsylvania, region for more than 140 years. From its beginnings as the Keystone Normal School, founded to train teachers in the wake of the Civil War, Kutztown University has grown into an institution of almost 11,000 students. It is the third largest of the 14 schools in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
