About Us

Founded in 1858, Baker University is the oldest university in Kansas. It is a highly ranked, private liberal arts school that enrolls more than 3,000 students. The main campus of Baker University is located in Baldwin City, Kansas, and it has additional sites in five other regional locations in Kansas and Missouri as well as online programs. Baker University is dedicated to educating traditional and nontraditional students through small classes and quality instructors - its main campus has a low student to faculty ratio of 12-1.

Baker University is divided into four schools that offer degrees in more than 40 different fields of study. The College of Arts and Science is located in Baldwin City, and here students can earn Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in fields like music, English, psychology, biology, criminal justice, and business. The School of Nursing is located in nearby Topeka and offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The School of Education offers 25 undergraduate programs that prepare students for initial licensure as well as three master's degree and two doctoral degree programs. The School of Professional and Graduate Studies offers programs designed for adult learners who are seeking flexible learning options, such as online degrees or accelerated on-campus programs.

Baker University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Many programs have also earned additional program accreditation.
