Systems Engineering--Challenging Complexity: Course Description

The course examines what systems engineering is and why it's useful. In addition, the course looks at specific examples where principles and methods of systems engineering could have been used to avoid system problems. Specific topics include definition of systems engineering, systems analysis, managing change, systems concepts, complexity and risk, and engineering development among other topics. In addition, numerous case studies are examined to reinforce course concepts. The original course was targeted towards students in engineering disciplines.
