'System Safety' examines the design and operation of safety-critical systems in the space program. This free OpenCourseWare at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is offered to graduate students of Aeronautics and Astronautics programs. Students in this course will analyze the approach and technique used in the various components of a safe space mission.

System Safety: Course Description

This free online course explores Software systems and digital components in space programs. Professor Nancy Leveson will work with her students to explore the modern engineering approach to system safety equipment. Students explore compensating for human mistakes, examining the environment of risk and creating a safe interaction between humans and computers. This class will also examine real-world accidents and other subjects in lecture format.

Lectures, study materials, suggested readings and assignments are available online for free for this course.
