SCUBA: Course Description

'SCUBA,' a free OpenCourseWare about becoming certified as a SCUBA diver, is taught by Professor Halston Taylor. This course, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation Department, provides instruction for beginning SCUBA divers. The course focuses on topics essential for successful SCUBA diving, with a special emphasis placed on safe diving practices. Other course topics include the differences between cold and warm weather diving, the physics of compressed-air diving, equipment and gear and navigation.
