Planning Commission Primer: Course Description

'Planning Commission Primer' introduces readers to Michigan State University's Citizen Planner Online program. The Citizen Planner Online program teaches students the responsibilities of a Planning Official and why community residents should volunteer for this important position. This short introduction teaches students about zoning and planning issues. The full Citizen Planner Online program consists of seven different modules. Each module consists of several units that include an activity, a review section and a final assessment. At the end of each unit, students can make suggestions on ways to improve the course in the feedback section. Each unit takes approximately one hour to complete and students can start and stop units whenever they want to.

Course materials include online module evaluations, and a variety of additional online resources. If you're interested in participating in the Citizen Planner Online program, visit the planning commission course page.
