Currently, only the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego offers an online broadcasting degree program. Because a degree in broadcasting typically involves significant hands-on training, most schools require students to attend on-campus broadcasting classes. Miami Dade College, Houston Community College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are some of the institutions that offer campus-based broadcasting degree programs.

Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting and Mass Communication at SUNY-Oswego

The online broadcasting and mass communication degree program at SUNY-Oswego is open exclusively to individuals who already hold an associate's degree in broadcasting or a related field. Applicants who don't have a 2-year degree are required to take some on-campus classes prior to admission to the online program. SUNY's online broadcasting and mass communication program can be completed in two years. Graduates might pursue careers in traditional or electronic broadcasting, journalism, public relations or corporate communications.
