Metaphysics: Course Description

Study metaphysics to discover what the world contains, what holds it together and how it could have been different. Learn to compare the way the world looks to the way it really is. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)'s School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences in Cambridge, MA, offers this course to look at general and universal phenomena and their properties. Students examine the different realms of existence and compare how existence is determined in metaphysics as opposed to other philosophies.

MIT Professor Stephen Yablo teaches this course that incorporates math and logic to understand basic philosophy. Philosophy students also learn about causation and realities through this course, which identifies several reasons for learning metaphysics.
