Associate of Applied Science in Marine Biology

Few schools offer an associate's degree in Marine Biology. Those schools that offer degrees prepare students to work as research assistants or technicians in laboratories or other Marine Biology facilities. These programs focus heavily on hands-on field and laboratory work. Other classes may include biology, chemistry, zoology, ecology, marine botany, fishery science, microbiology, oceanography and geology.

Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology

A bachelor's degree in Marine Biology prepares students to work in applied Marine Biology and as researchers in the field. These degree programs use field experience to teach their subjects.
