Management of Supply Networks: Course Description

'Management of Supply Networks' covers supply chain management topics, such as logistic provider's (third party) role, customer service and retention, delivery systems design, strategic alliances and supply network (SN) structures. The reading list contains case studies of supply networks successes in the airline, financial and food processing industries. 'Management of Supply Networks' OpenCourseWare allows users to access lecture notes that contain in-depth explanations of topics like introducing new services in distributed environments, matching supply and demand in call centers and ensuring inventory effectiveness. MIT Professor Gabriel Bitran designed the 'Management of Supply Networks' course. Only executives (mid-level) who are enrolled in the MIT Sloan Fellows Program (an MBA program) in Innovation and Global Leadership are allowed to enroll in the original course. The format of the course is lecture.
