Business Language: Making Decisions: Course Description

Relocation, the process of moving to a new site, is a common process in the business world that can have a significant impact on an entire company and its community. This course uses case studies involving relocation to study the process of making decisions in a business environment. In it, students study how to effectively prepare for a meeting by utilizing specific figures of speech. They also learn to take messages within an office environment. Additionally, the course focuses on soliciting and receiving employee suggestions and taking down minutes, or recorded notes, in a business meeting. Other topics covered include summarizing decisions and expressing action points, using specific verb phrases. This is estimated to be a 4-hour class.
