Landscape Management: Course Description

This course provides the basics of landscaping, including how to maintain the greenscape, the living parts of the landscape, effectively. Discover how to use the hardscape, the non-living parts of the landscape, like cement, rock, statues and fountains to enhance an overall effect. In this OpenCourseWare offered by Utah State University (USU)'s School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences in Logan, Utah, students discover the reasons for landscapes, such as beauty, entertainment and spirituality. Students also learn to identify the components of a landscape. The course then covers potential problems in landscape management and how to solve them. USU Professor Roger Kjelgren teaches this course about landscape management while taking environmental concerns and saving our natural resources into consideration.

Videos, audio tracks and some notes are available for free online, as is a list of additional resources. To take this course or to learn more, visit the Landscape Management course page.
