Intensive Neuroanatomy: Course Description

Discover how the nervous system develops in amphibians and humans in the OpenCourseWare, 'Intensive Neuroanatomy,' provided by MIT. On MIT's campus, Professor Elly Nedivi from the Brain and Cognitive Sciences department lectured on the major structures of the brain and nervous system, such as sensory systems, motor systems, the limbic system, the hypothalamus and the neocortex. Also discussed in this anatomy course are functional components of the central nervous system, like the topography, brainstem, amine-containing cells and distribution of the cranial nerves. Students could learn how these different bodily bits and pieces work collectively.

The free 'Intensive Neuroanatomy' OpenCourseWare includes a resource list and sample exam questions. If you're interested in this course, visit the nervous system anatomy course page.
