Most master's programs are 32 semester hours. Coursework may focus on curriculum development, family education perspectives, research techniques and communication processes. Students generally must complete a thesis requirement.

Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Family and Consumer Sciences Education

A Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education leads to research or teaching positions in academic or government settings. Required classes focus on human development research, statistical analysis, human development theories and family studies.
