General Relativity: Course Description

As the name suggests, this is a class in general relativity. It examines the fundamental principles of the general relativity theory proposed by Einstein. It also covers cosmology, black holes, differential geometry and experimental tests in general relativity. Familiarity with differential equations, linear algebra, electromagnetism, numerical analysis, Green's functions, action principles and Lagrangians would help in understanding the material. Professors Scott Hughes and Edmund Bertschinger taught the original 'General Relativity' course in the Physics Department at MIT in lecture format.

Materials included with 'General Relativity' OpenCourseWare are a reading list and problem sets with hints. Now is your chance to find out about Einstein's famous theory by visiting Einstein's general theory on relativity course page.
