'City Visions: Past and Future' is a free OpenCourseWare from MIT's Urban Studies and Planning Department. City Visions: Past and Future: Course Description

Professors Diane Davis and Lawrence Vale teach the MIT OpenCourseWare, 'City Visions: Past and Future.' Offered through the Urban Studies and Planning Department, this graduate-level course is for students who want to understand how cities come into existence and how their design affects their functionality. Students will learn how city utilities and citizens interact. The focus of the course branches out internationally as well as locally, with studies of cities and metropolitan areas around the globe. Specific course topics include the legal, political, and social implications of cities, how cities originate and grow, how to rebuild cities and even a special section on the city of Jerusalem.
