First Year Chinese I: Course Description

Chinese has become the most widely spoken language in the world with over one billion people using it every day! This OpenCourseWare from Utah Sate University provides an introduction to Chinese through a series of video lectures focused on developing speech and writing skills. The foundation is built with an overview of the basic symbols used in the written form. Students also learn the basic grammatical function of Chinese words and how to use them in sentences. 'First Year Chinese I' is led by Professor Li Li, Ph.D. This undergraduate-level course requires no prior knowledge of the Chinese language.
