Advanced Complexity Theory: Course Description
MIT offers this thorough course on complexity theory to give graduate students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the subject. Ideal for students looking to prepare for a master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, this free course will cover topics such as polynomial hierarchy, non-uniform complexity, randomized computation and quantum complexity. Professor Daniel Spielman will lead students through an OpenCourseWare devoted entirely to theory via lecture notes and homework assignments. In addition to the lecture notes, students are encouraged to research the subject independently from a variety of recommended textbook sources. Unlike other courses, which may discuss applications of complexity theory, this course is purely theoretical.
The course provides its lecture notes and homework assignments online. For more information on this free OpenCourseWare visit the advanced complexity theory home page.
