Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering OpenCourseWare: A Free Undergraduate Civil Engineering Class by USU
Hone your ability to solve partial differential equations (PDEs) and other engineering applications in 'Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering,' an OpenCourseWare offered by Utah State University. Using MATLAB software for programming and graphics, students solve problems related to groundwater and open channel flows. This free undergraduate course is designed for students pursuing degrees in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering: Course Description
This free course covers PDEs and other numerical methods related to hydraulics and transport difficulties in open channel flows and groundwater. Approximation and application, nonparametric and parametric probability and Monte Carlo and uncertainty analysis are discussed. Students build upon their understanding of elementary numerical methods, such as bisection, secant methods, matrix algebra, linear algebra and numerical integration. This requires MATLAB software for the necessary programming and graphics environment. Professor Gilberto Urroz teaches this course on numerical methods.
Readings and related resources are available free online. If you're interested in taking this course, visit the Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering course page.
