Methods in Science: Course Description

'Methods in Science' is offered by the Department of Elementary Education at Dixie State College of Utah in St. George. The course is designed for prospective elementary school teachers and gives them strategies for teaching science to young students. Students do mini-activities that they can use in the classroom. They learn different science teaching strategies that would help students with different learning styles and abilities. Every lesson includes an assignment to cement the new material. The Department of Elementary Education's Shirley Sung Davis, Ph.D., teaches the class.
