Integrated Microelectric Devices: Course Description

Using short-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET device) design and energy band diagrams, this OpenCourseWare from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology helps students understand the physical operation of microelectronic semiconductor devices. 'Integrated Microelectric Devices' also touches on the scaling issues facing modern electronic devices. Specific subjects covered in this course include the fundamentals of semiconductor technology, semiconductor structures and junctions and MOS field-effect transistor. Students interested in this course are encouraged to have completed prior coursework in semiconductor design and circuitry. MIT Professor Jesus Del Alamo teaches this free graduate-level course.

Materials for this free online course include lecture notes, homework assignments, projects, quizzes and a final exam. Access to an open version of the MIT Microelectronics WebLab is also provided.
