Documentary Photography & Photojournalism (Still Images of a World in Motion): Course Description

This OpenCourseWare presents examples of documentary photography and photojournalism taken from an MIT course originally taught by Professor B. D. Colen. The OpenCourseWare materials include completed projects from past students of the course. One project asked students to take ten photographs they would want to carry with them on a space ship leaving Earth if they knew they would never return. Another project had students document a subject of their choosing with photographs and explanatory text. Also included with this course are links to websites for photo agencies, photojournalism collections and photography forums. These resources can benefit students working on a Bachelor of Journalism degree.

This course includes online galleries of completed student projects and links to further study resources. To find these galleries, visit the photojournalism course page.
