Medicine I: Course Description

Learn how to properly interview a new patient, retrieve the new patient's medical history and conduct a physical exam. Identify any previous conditions that could be problematic in this OpenCourseWare provided by Tufts University in Medford, MA. Students learn to identify signs and symptoms of disease or illness. The course looks at infectious diseases, viruses and psychiatric disorders that can prevent certain types of oral care. Tufts University faculty members, including Kanchan Ganda, Joanne Brewer, Michael Kahn, Ronald J. Kulich, Kathryn Ragalis and Michael Thompson, lead this course, which helps students learn how to properly examine patients. Students also learn about drugs and antibiotics commonly used for dental purposes.
