Computational Functional Genomics: Course Description

MIT Professors David Gifford and Tommi Jaakkola teach 'Computational Functional Genomics,' a free OpenCourseWare from MIT. This course focuses on stem cell research and the search for new developmental directions within that field. The course is broken down into three parts, the use of DNA sequencing, transcriptional regulation and the use of predictive models of transcriptional regulation. Other topics in this graduate-level course include genome structure and function, stem cell biology, as microarrays, statistical data analysis, predictive and causal inference and experiment design.
