Gateway: Planning Economics: Course Description
MIT Professor Frank Levy makes use of real-world examples, including targeted zoning in a Massachusetts suburb and dealing with deficits in the New York City budget, in this free OpenCourseWare offered through the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT in Cambridge, MA. This course lasts just a third of a semester but covers numerous topics relevant to City Planning students. Working from Walter Nicholson's book 'Intermediate Microeconomics and Its Applications,' students will study basic economic theory and its application. This course led by Professor Frank Levy includes lessons about investment tools, housing finance, location theory and public goods and externalities. Flash Player software is required, and a traditional Chinese translation of this course is available.
