Chinese III (regular): Course Description

Chinese language skills are highly valued in business, political and academic circles and MIT's 'Chinese III (regular)' brings students one step closer to mastering this challenging language. The 'Chinese III (regular)' lecture course was designed by Julian K. Wheatley for intermediate Chinese language students who minor in Chinese. The course builds on two previous introductory courses and starts with an extensive review of elementary written and spoken Chinese grammar and vocabulary. After completing this review, students learn new intermediate vocabulary and grammar, which allows them to communicate more independently with less need for rote memorization. Extensive reading and writing practice, using both traditional and simplified characters, is also included in 'Chinese III (regular)' OpenCourseWare.

'Chinese III (regular)' OpenCourseWare includes review materials, downloadable course readings, audio files and assignment instructions. If you are interested in taking this free online Chinese course, visit the intermediate Chinese language course page.
