Automatic Speech Recognition: Course Description
This OpenCourseWare from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will introduce you to automatic speech recognition. There are three parts to the course content. The first part covers the theory of speech production, signal representation and acoustic phonetics. The second part includes a discussion of the algorithmic components of speech recognition systems, for example, pattern classification and techniques for language modeling. The third part of the course content looks at the many approaches to speech recognition, as well as advanced techniques for acoustic-phonetic modeling. Dr. James Glass and Professor Victor Zue teach this free MIT graduate-study class. Some of the lecture notes include audio demonstrations.
