Art of Color: Course Description
This OpenCourseWare uses fundamentals of visual design to explore theories and concepts pertaining to color relationships. For this course, participants need their own art supplies and an enthusiastic creative vision. Using Color-Aid papers, students begin with a color familiarization exercise and progress to specifically outlined studio projects. These projects allow students to implement specific concepts, including historical uses of color, unified space and color balance. Additionally, participants use color squares to explore color as impression with an exercise designed to solicit sensations of one of the seasons. Professor Peter Dourmashkin presents this OpenCourseWare in lecture format and provides a detailed list of reference material.
