Architectural Design: Intentions: Course Description

'Architectural Design: Intentions' is a free course offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Architecture. The objectives of this course are to assist students to expand upon the knowledge, skills and ideas that have nurtured others in architectural studies, to develop their own personal design skills, through theorizing and embodying architectural concepts and making style and artistic decisions about building design. Students who complete 'Architectural Design: Intentions' will receive training on several techniques for displaying their ideas, developing models and mastering free-hand and hard-line drawings. The goal is for students to cultivate solid manual skills and abilities and to depend on established means of observation and analysis without the use of digital methods.

The material for this OpenCourseWare includes assignments that are available in PDF files, a list of related readings, and a photo gallery of student projects and studio images. If you are interested in taking this course, visit the architectural design course page.
