Advanced Natural Language Processing: Course Description
This OpenCourseWare provides students with an overview of natural language processing topics. The course materials are focused on the algorithms and models that cover the syntactic, semantic and discourse methods of language processing. The course emphasizes machine-learning or corpus-based methods. Other course topics include dialogue systems, algorithms used for summarizing texts and statistical parsing techniques. In addition to technical topics, the course provides an introduction to grammar and discusses the difficulties of grammatically-correct natural language processing techniques. Professors Regina Barzilay and Michael Collins of MIT teach this lecture-based course.
