Abnormal Language: Course Description
This course allows students to study cases adult language impairment to better understand how normal language develops. Discover the language abilities of young children, how language is learned and various language impairments leading to abnormal language. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)'s School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences offers this course for students seeking a degree in Linguistics, Brain Sciences and Cognitive Sciences and a better understanding of relationships between language and the brain. This course also covers how learning a second or third language affects language acquisition differently and changes how the brain deteriorates in normal and abnormal aspects.
