20th Century Middle Eastern History: Course Description
The '20th Century Middle Eastern History' OpenCourseWare places an emphasis on studies of the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, Turkey, the Arabian peninsula, and Iran. Topics covered in this course include Islamic empires, the Age of Imperialism, World War I, the Arab Israeli conflict, World War II and the Iranian Revolution. This free OpenCourseWare from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is taught by Professors Mona Russell and Shariann Lewitt. This course provides students with an overview of the geography, economy, politics and society of several Middle Eastern nations during the last 100 years.
